We have been using invoicing for our catering for a couple years. We don't really need the full scale catering and events because the invoicing system through toast has suited our needs. We also don't typically charge deposits.
I looked into toast central to try and charge a particular customer a deposit as it's a very large catering job and the following article gives instructions https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Charging-Guests-for-Event-Deposits-by-Using-Customer-Invoices. However when trying to use the instructions of option 2 it doesn't seem to give your the option to select deposit. Is this a change that happened with cater & events subscription and this is just and old article?

I think it's under payment schedule now on the invoice, also requires an alternate payment to be setup
