We currently add a mandatory 20% service fee to all in house orders.
If a guest pays with a gift card, the gift card automatically applies to the service fee as well as the rest of the check. Our policy is that the guest must pay for the service fee or an additional tip with cash/card/etc. and that the gift card can't cover it. When cashing someone out with a gift card, the employee must type the amount of the bill minus the service fee in the "amount tendered" field - and then run the gift card for that amount.
I would like it to automatically pay for the bill - not including the service fee - when using a gift card, and then have a "remaining balance" of the applied 20% on the receipt so guests know they still owe that amount.
Is this possible?
We currently use the "non-automatic service fee" and the automatic service fee wouldn't really work with how we have din in and take out set up.
Thanks!

This I believe would be a feature request. If you are using a service fee that is auto applied you can removed it but not in a way that allow you to add it back or have a balance due in the way you are attempting. I believe the workflow that you have in place is the best way to complete this. However the community may have found a way to do what you are asking!
