Issues starting tabs since todays update?

Is anyone else unable to start tabs with preauthorized credit cards since today's software update?

Update to try and help anyone else avoid wasting 45 minutes of their day on the phone.

Toast has temporarily disabled starting tabs with the chip and tap and reverted to starting tabs with the swipe. According to the support expert I spoke with they are hoping to have this fixed by end of day wednesday so look for an update on Thursday.

The expert immediately told me this was a known issue. Infuriatingly, to get to him I had to spend 40 minutes on the phone and on hold with tier 1 support while we ran all the troubleshooting steps I had already taken (reset cahce, storage, reboot etc). You would think Toast would communicate known issues with tier 1 support to save everyone's time.

We strive to relay accurate information to our agents, but gaps in their knowledge can occur, we also have chat support which some people have found easier to use because you won't have to wait on hold, and you can continue along with your work while the agent researches the issue, regardless, we are actively working to improve this experience!

I also experienced the same thing couple times. It would be nice to have a memo outlining existing known issues currently being worked on for Tier 1 support. This would ensure they stay consistently updated on the situation. Or maybe Toast has been doing it already. Just a humble suggestion.
