There used to be a setting in UI settings for tipping that required a manager override for large tips. For example we had it set something like over $20 and mor that 100% of the check required a manager override. Recently we had a large tip that didn't require that. In the old settings spot there is only a setting for requiring a manager override for changing a tip after the check is closed out. Anyone know where the old setting went?

The setting for requiring manager approval for large tips has been updated. Now, manager approval is not needed for large tips, only for tip adjustments. You can configure this by navigating to Front of house > Order screen setup > UI Options and selecting Tipping > Significant Adjustments to Tips Require Approval. Here, you can set an approval requirement for significant adjustments and specify the corresponding amounts. Save and publish your changes.
Manager Approval for Large Tips

Why did they make that update? I feel like previously it required manager override anytime you adjusted a tip after the check was closed, which made sense since it increases the chances of a chargeback. I was fine with their not being an override required when the customer enters their own tips on a handheld, but for the written slips it was important. It helped prevent mistakes and also it is good to know if a bartender in consistently getting giant tips on small checks as they might be giving the bar away. Can we get this changed back or at least have both implemented

I believed this was changed due to customer requests, but I will see if it can be reversed!
