Manual Order or Seat Number Entry

We give table numbers on little wire stands to customers when they order food. The numbers aren't always sequential. We started entering the numbers using the Special Request button. However, some of our servers forget to enter the numbers because there's no prompt to do so. I tried activating seat numbers, but those are sequential. Is there a way to prompt the server to manually enter a number corresponding to the number we give the customer? I've attached a pic of the numbers/holders we use.

Probably no the best way to approach this issue. You can use "service prompt" that requests servers must include menu item(s) before payment. Create a menu item that has a modifier group for the number cards. More information on service prompt: https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Creating-and-Utilizing-Service-Prompts

Another option might be to just use the table layout as your default mode with the table numbers, then they have to choose whatever table number is next first to start the order and that will be the table assigned to the check. This was the first major hurdle we had to figure out with toast. This is what I did and it works great. So our main dine in registers automatically go to table service. I just made tables 1-99 and the cashier hits what ever number they are giving the customer before they can even start taking their order. Its pretty much exactly what @rcmck is saying. Here is a screen shot of ours so you can see.
