negative deposits

Hello! Toast did an update last night and my deposit screen looks different. How do I add a negative deposit?

As far as I’m aware, you’ve never been able to input a negative deposit directly through the POS.  It just doesn’t allow that “-“ symbol to be used.  I recently found that it was possible to do from the backend though.  The accountant for my restaurant always has us enter a $0 deposit though, if it’s a negative deposit.  Not sure that makes sense for your business or not, and definitely not my area of expertise, I just do as I’m told lol

That is correct; you are unable to input a negative deposit on the POS, but you can from Toastweb.

Do this from the Reports section in Toast's back-end using the navigation on the left side of your screen and select Drawer history under the Cash and loss management header.
