For the new Toast Uber Eats integration I believe I saw a notice come in saying that it would offer an expanded delivery radius.
Is this true?
Currently our Doordash integration is limited to 5 miles.
I know switching to using own drivers is a solution to delivery radius, but that can be costly to store or to customer if cost is passed on to them.
Here is what I received from "What's New at Toast":
"An Uber good partnership to unlock more savings and a larger network. We announced a new integration between Toast Delivery Services and Uber Direct to allow restaurants across the U.S. to save on delivery fees, expand delivery radius, and leverage Uber's extensive delivery network to offer local delivery of orders made by phone and through Toast digital ordering channels, including Online Ordering, Branded Mobile App, and the Local by Toast app"

Sorry for the confusion around these changes; based on the info I could find, here are the answers to your questions:

Yes understood. Thanks
To clarify in your third bullet point: while TDS uses DoorDash. Here you are referring to Door Dash Drive correct? as is listed in the "Select your Your Delivery Provider" in Takeout/Delivery.
Difference Between DoorDash Direct and DoorDash through TDS: DoorDash Direct and DoorDash through TDS are separate services. DoorDash Direct is a third-party ordering service, while TDS uses DoorDash or Uber Direct for delivery from Toast Online Ordering.

For the 3rd point, yes, sorry, I think I got a bit confused myself, but you are correct; TDS allows for DoorDash Drive or Uber Direct to be used. I will update my 3rd point to try to make it more clear!
DoorDash Direct would be your location directly integrating with DoorDash; more info here Get Started With the DoorDash Integration
Hopefully, this clears some of the confusion... I'm not a fan of the names we've decided for these things 😅
