We are new to Toast and our display screens functioning perfect. Then suddenly some of the buttons disappeared from the screen. The items are still there under menu manager but are not displayed on the screen any longer. Is it user error or is there some toggle for them to reappear?

Under visibility of the menu manager make sure the missing items have POS selected. Also check the availability of menus and make sure they were not mistakenly restricted to certain days or times.

We recently experienced a similar issue. In our case, the problem was that an employee had full admin access, which allowed them to make changes to the POS. We’ve since restricted full admin access to only specific corporate employees.
Your situation may be different, but I wanted to share this in case it turns out to be something similar. The employee who made the changes didn’t realize that those changes would affect all POS devices. Our set up is MLM, and it impacted other locations as well, unfortunately.
I was able to catch it through the publishing center. I went through the publishes and dived deeper to find who it was last edited by.
