I don’t believe Toast has the capability for doing this, but I’m wondering if anybody else has come across this or if there’s a work around. We have an active restaurant doing takeout and dine in and also a market using the (RETAIL) module. We are in the process of combining our takeout register with our market register so that customers can do take out food and buy groceries at the same time. I want to make sure that customers can tip our servers on the takeout order but not the groceries. Is there a way to disable tipping on the grocery items so that the register only calculates the tip based on the takeout food?

We do this the expensive way by having our Deli / Restaurant as a second Location, although the businesses are both in the same physical space.  We could have combined them, but this works better for us and allows us to share the points/rewards across both "locations".  Multi-Location and combined each have their caveats.  Such as this tipping, which we wanted to avoid at the Retail POS.
