Have had Toast for years. Recent issues of tickets not printing. In some cases they have printed at another station. In other cases they have not printed at all and we didn't know until the customer showed up. This has been going on very randomly for the last week. It makes no sense. It's only a ticket here or there. Today we had 5 of them. 3 printed at another printer. 2 didn't print at all. Out of over 200 tickets.
These are all tickets that would be going to our pizza printer. No issues with orders without pizzas, like subs ow wings printing to their printer. No rhyme or reason as far as which tickets. Some have been online. Some DoorDash, etc. Everything has been shut down, rebooted, etc multiple times. I have no idea what it could be but it's really becoming an issue. Thinking possibly connectivity between printer and hub but why would some tickets print at another station like they should and some nothing?
Any idea are much appreciated.

Update. Hour on the phone today with useless support getting nowhere. This is ridiculous.

Does it happen with in house tickets as well? Or do you do you just generally do more online? Just wondering if the online is just a coincidence because of volume and not the actual problem. The first thing I would do is swap the Ethernet cable from the printer to wherever it goes, a wall-jack or directly to a switch etc. That is the biggest cause of intermittent issues, sounds like sometimes it is completely offline and sending to the backup printer assigned, but sometimes the printer gets a little bit of the data but not all of it.

Had our computer guy come one and swap out cables and the part in printer they connect to. No issues since. Guess it's just the restaurant environment and maybe it got mucked up. I'm no computer expert but still doesn't make sense that some did go to alternate printer but others didn't print at all.

Yeah kitchen environment can be pretty rough on stuff like that. As far as only sometimes my best guess is it was making a connection and getting a link long enough for it to receive some of the data just corrupted which resulted in the ticket being "printed" (as far as the POS was concerned anyway), and sometimes no link at all which would result in it being offline and going to assigned backup printer. Glad you got it resolved though.
