Unable to add custom URL to Google Business Profile "Food Ordering" section

Hello all!

Are other people having problems adding a custom URL to the Order Food section of your Google Business Profile? Please note that I do have an open Toast (as well as Google Business Profile) support ticket on this issue (there is either confusion and/or finger pointing from one or both of these entities about this - which from my experience is not too uncommon or unexpected).

Anyway... I had the link (e.g. https://toasttab.com/RESTAURANT-NAME) working on our Google Business Profile in the past  but then I either took it down myself or it was auto-removed (can't remember which) when I flipped the toggle on Toast Tab backend to add their Order with Google link. And I can't re-add the custom URL.

Although when trying to add it back, all looks like it should work (for a very short period). It appears that the URL is added and should show up on the Google Business Profile. It saves in our Google Business Profile. I can close the Google Business Profile "Order Food" dialogue box and open it back up and it is still there. But then 10 minutes later I try to open the dialogue box again... and it is no longer there. And it never shows up as viewable for the general public on our Google Business Profile.

Anyway, I've tried the following (and more) and nothing is allowing me to have the custom URL show again on the Google Business Profile:

  • Toggling off and on the Order with Google on Toast Tab backend and trying to add the URL back to the Google Business Profile.
  • Toggling off "Order with Google" on Toast Tab backend, confirming it's removed on our Google Business Profile, and trying to re-add it on Google Business Profile backend.
  • Tried adding a non-toast URL (pointing to our restaurant's online ordering page listed on our main website) to our Google Business Profile "Order Food" section (didn't work, as I thought would be the case).
  • Opened support tickets with both Google and Toast

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you try to fix it? Did you find a solution? Thanks!

I had an issue when using a link that started with http:// instead of https:// fixing that made it show back up for me.

@rcmck - Much thanks for thinking that possibly using "https://" instead of "http://" was the issue. Unfortunately, I tried using "http://" and the same thing happened.

May have just been a fluke, sorry it didn't work for you, have you heard anything from google?
