Hey Toast Community! 🍞
There have been several discussions regarding credit card charging across different threads. To simplify things, I propose creating a post where all credit card charging-related information can be consolidated. This will make it easier for us to provide the correct team with feedback when necessary.
What is Surcharging?
Credit Card Surcharging beta product offered by Toast allows you to automatically surcharge in eligible U.S. states to help offset the cost of your credit card processing fees.
If you are interested in this product and you do not have access, you can sign up for the waitlist here. It is worth noting not all customers will be eligible.
"Please note, eligibility for the Credit Card Surcharging product may depend on your location, whether you have a direct processing relationship with a card brand, your volume, or other factors. Ineligible customers may not be notified when the product becomes available."

Hi Rob,
New York State just added new guidelines so that businesses can charge a surcharge for credit card transactions, as of yesterday the 11th. I have signed up for the waitlist on the beta back in November. Are you able to give me any update on if I can get into the beta or when this feature will be active for everyone? Thank you, Mark

It was rolled lout to my restaurants on May 1st. Unfortunately, Toast raised the CC fees to us so we wont recoup as much as we thought. Kinda of dissapointed in Toast for doing this

It’s there. Must’ve just rolled out in the last few days. I’m going to check it out. This will definitely help even if it’s not a total recoup of the fees at least it’s something.
