Tip entry requiring manager approval

Hi Team

At one location, we have a lot of guests who want to sign their printed receipt copy even though we have the Toast2Gos. However, when the server enters the tip on the closed check, it prompts for the manager to authorize the tip. We already have a rule set up to required manager approval for a tip over 40% of the check value, so we don't need to authorize each tip entry. Is there a setting I can update to fix this issue for us?

There was a change in 2.79 with tip adjustments, (https://doc.toasttab.com/doc/relnotes/techReleaseNotes2_79.html)  requires void/refund payment 3.08 or cash drawer permission 3.18 to change tip, but it should only ask if you change tip after entering and closing the check. Is it possible they are closing the check first with no tip for some reason and then trying to add it? Could you describe their workflow? Are they running the card on the handheld and just hitting no tip on screen and then re-printing a receipt with tip line? (this would close the check with no tip), or are they temporarily turning off digital receipt on the payment screen before running the card so that it skips the digital receipt screen altogether and just prints the credit card slips?

OMG you're a LIFESAVER!!! It was the permission 3.18. We have not typically had that on for servers, since they use Toast2Gos and not cash drawers. But since they were adding tips added on the paper signature receipt, they were running into issues. Thank you so much!
