I am in the process of reconciling Toast deposits into my bank for the month of June - dates 6/1 to 6/30.
When I pull up the reports for those dates, Toast shows Gross credit card payments made by customers of $91,963.63
$2,472.99 was pulled out of that for credit card processing fees - leaving a net deposit amount for credit card transactions of $85,583.31
Here is where I start to notice the discrepancy/imbalance:
When I subtract my net sales of $71,546.51, I am left with $14,036.80
When I subtract the sales tax amount collected with credit card sales of $5,438.67, I am left with $8,598.13
But Toast says I owe my servers $14,825 in tips paid by credit card
What am I missing here? Where would that remaining amount of $6,227.81 come from to make up the difference in credit card tips needing to be paid out?
I have scoured through all the reports and figures that I can think of to find this missing amount and cannot explain it. SOS!
