Can't change orders from pickup to delivery when placed through Local Toast app

Answer
Modifications to orders where Toast is classified as a marketplace facilitator are not allowed. Toast is classified as a marketplace facilitator for orders originating from the Local by Toast app and Toast Local in applicable jurisdictions.

Modifications are any type of change to the order after it has been placed, such as (but not limited to) adding or removing items, changing the delivery address, and adding or removing discounts.

Is this being fixed? The app is pretty confusing (according to my customers) and lately we have had one or two orders per day where they say they never had a change to enter their address and it defaults to pickup.  Then they call us and ask why we can't just change it to delivery, and the conversation usually ends up with me saying you have to pick it up or place a new order because I can't even refund it.  Is there a fix for this? Why is Toast app classifying Toast orders as marketplace facilitators like doordash or uber? Seems like lazy coding by whoever developed this.

Thanks for reaching out to the community for this!

The classification as a marketplace facilitator is due to the way Toast processes orders and payments, similar to third-party services like DoorDash or Uber Eats. This setup ensures consistent tax reporting and compliance with marketplace facilitator laws. I'm not sure how much room we have to adjust this but I will still rely the feedback to the team!
