You can set a redemption limit though, that will stop them from accumulating them all and then running up a huge tab.

I BEG BEG that to be an option! Reward points need to expire. My customers find it funny to accumulate massive amounts of points. My servers are trained to tell them how many they have and encourage them to use them. But they choose to hold on to them. It would be a better opportunity to bring customers back and use their points if they were risking loss of points.
I discontinued our previous POS rewards point system due to this. I don't know how I thought it would be a good idea again with Toast....

Hey, @Cinven At the moment, reward points do not have an expiration date. However, you have the option to inform your customers that points will expire, then make manual adjustments to their point balances.

Sorry for the delayed response...I don't know what restaurant owner has the time to sit and track points to manually adjust balances......hundreds of customers. Might as well keep track on paper.
