I continue to be baffled as to why none of the POS systems, including Toast, has been able to figure out a robust and truly customer centered loyalty platform. (and integrations are worse yet since they are all glitchy and lack full integration despite many promises)
- Accounts Need Multiple Occasions - Full service restaurant diners typically dine as couples and want to carry one loyalty membership. They each celebrate a birthday AND often an Anniversary, all of which are huge opportunities to entice with special offers as well as build loyalty to the brand. We absolutely need the ability to offer multiple occasion offers on one account. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE that I cannot emphasize enough!
- Loyalty and Guestbook need to talk to each other! - If the guestbook recognizes a phone number it should also recognize that the guest is a loyalty member and automatically tag the check with the loyalty. We shouldn't have to manually tag the rewards account in addition to already recognizing with the same phone number that it is a guestbook member. Basically, why can't the guestbook simply "upgrade" the guest status to loyalty member and consolidate the guest information into one account?
- Collection and editing of customer data should be easier for us to do on the back end and include customizable fields.
A robust loyalty program is customer centered and should be easy for the guest! We need to be able to help the guest reap rewards and feel appreciated without extra work on their end. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...invest in Loyalty!!
