Hi everyone,
I am considering the credit card surcharge option that's available in the Toast system. I'm reaching out to ask if any other restaurants or retailers have incorporated this, and what kind of feedback did you receive from customers?
Thank you.

As a customer, I am frustrated by surcharging. Credit card fees, like so many things, are a cost of doing business. I also don't want to be surcharged for liability insurance, garbage, or other necessary evils. (I may actually be willing to pay a little bit more on a menu price, though...)
As a restaurant business manager, I completely understand the desire to surcharge for credit card use, because credit card use is 'optional' for the customer and expensive for the business. I get that 100%. Full disclosure, we don't surcharge, because it didn't make sense for our business.
My advice to you: Get input from others who do surcharge (so if you're reading this and DO surcharge, please chime in!) on customer reaction. Also - look at your current credit card fees over a few months, then compare Toast's rate offer for those same months and see what your savings would be if you had been surcharging. And then read the fine print so you know what you're committing to.
Best of luck!
