DoorDash integration Ticket due times

Hi All!

I wanted to share some info I learned this week that may be affecting another restaurant out there!

We have DoorDash Integration. Our online ordering/third party delivery is set for a minimum of 20 min prep time with additional rules set for extra time added based on price.

The last couple of weeks our DooDash "order time" and "due time" have been very strange. 2 min prep times and sometimes even times that had already past such as "order time 4:32" and "due time 4:30".  Toast online ordering ticket times were normal.

I spoke with Toast and after they investigated it for a week they told me it was not on the toast end of things and I should contact doordash.

Doordash said there was an update that happened within Toast recently and the rules you set in Toast no longer apply DoorDash Integration as they did before.  If you call Doordash you can set your minimum and maximum quote times through customer service (it was pretty quick and painless as far as customer service calls go). I did inquire if this is something I could do myself through the doordash merchant portal and he said not at this time, you have to call customer service to do it.

Hope this helps someone out there!

Interesting! Thank you for sharing! It has not been brought to my attention that we are experiencing issues with quote times, but I'll definitely be looking out for this. What type of quote time strategy are you using? I noticed this line for smartquote strategy.

Looks like smartquote is available to limited users, we aren't on that yet but it sounds interesting!

I use the rules inside of Takeout & Delivery>Quote Time Strategy>Order Price Rules.

I set a 20 min delay for all online orders just to be on the safe side and then set rules for pricing. So if they spend $100 then it adds 10 min, $150 it adds 15, etc. If the customer was calling in to the store we would account for a little extra time to make a large order so this helps tremendously when we get a big order for 25 individual orders for an office for example.
