Item transfers between units

Borrowing or sharing items between multiple locations is very common.  Does anyone know a best practice for transferring items (food/Bev) between locations to ensure proper inventory and reporting?

Example: Location A borrows a case of bread from location B.  How would I enter that in xtrachef to ensure that the case of bread comes out of Location B's inventory and goes into Locations A's inventory?

I would love to know if anyone has a work around.

Based on all the documentation I could find, it is not possible to link multiple locations' inventory together; each location has its own inventory. If there were ever a way to do this, you would need to have MLM (link below), but I still do not believe this is possible.
