Modifiers for Open Items

I am having trouble adding Modifier groups to Open Items.

Do you mean Open Items added through here shown in the picture?

If yes, I don't think there is a way to add modifier groups to it. However, you can create your own "Open Item" as a menu item and you can customize it to your liking.
