Order Ready Board

Would be awesome if orders could be automatically marked as ready, when fulfilled at all stations. We are quick service, so there is no expeditor screen. Manually marking each order as fulfilled when we are busy is impossible. As it is, a feature that could be good is completely unusable for us, unless someone has figured out a work around?

There might a possible workaround but every order must involve one of your prep station. Could you share more information on your setup please?

 

We have three kitchen displays. Two for one area “grill” and one screen for drinks.

The idea of the workaround is to set one of your KDS as expediter and set tickets displayed filtered by courses so it still displays tickets intended for this KDS .

As long as a ticket is marked fulfilled on the expediter KDS, it will trigger the fulfillment and send an order ready text. (I don't use Order Ready Board. It works with Order Ready Text Messaging when I tested. So it should also work with Order Ready Board.)

There are several shortcomings with this workaround:
1) Every order must have an item by the course that will display on the expediter KDS to get it to work.
>> this issue can be easily addressed by creating an dummy item/modifier with a course attribute that will show on the expediter KDS. Make sure every order must include the dummy item/modifier.

2) Because we are using a prep station as an expediter, the expediter KDS must be the last device to fulfill a ticket among all other prep stations so it does not create confusion to your customers.
>> there is not an ideal solution to this one. I would suggest to make whichever prep station/KDS that usually has the longest prep time as the expediter.
