Print Take Out Tickets Only

Hello,

Does anyone know the best way to configure the Kitchen printer to print take-out tickets ONLY and not any Dine-In tickets? I am looking at the item routing settings, but not quite sure if that's even an option to do.

We currently implemented Kitchen Display screens in the kitchen, and there's in longer a need for dine-in tickets to print. However, we attach take-out kitchen receipts to carryout bags, for organization purposes. We use 1 prep station called Master_Food which is targeted to 21 locations since we for the most part use the same menu.

Thank you!

1. create a printer call "takeout" or a name you prefer.
2. Under item routing:
Category: "dining option"
Condition: __YourTakeOutOptions__
Reroute From: __CurrentKitchenPrinter
Reroute To: __NewTakeOutPrinter__

For KDS, you can filter the dining options you want to show.

If it's just to attach to carryout bags I think the easiest solution would be to assign that printer as receipt printer to an expeditor KDS and turn on auto print on fulfill set to takeout/delivery receipt and it will just print takeout receipts whenever an order with takeout behavior is fulfilled. https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Auto-Print-on-Fulfill

Hello,

Thanks for the input! I will try this out! I was just looking at auto print on fulfill, which I think may be our solution! 🙂

I am not too concerned about KDS settings, as that is all setup, however, our Kitchen Managers were requesting for carryout tickets to continue to print out so that we can attach the kitchen ticket to carryout bags. We prefer the kitchen ticket vs the takeout/delivery ticket since the kitchen ticket will show all the modifiers.

Thanks for your valuable insights! I'm considering turning this into a Toast Central article. Would that be helpful?
