two bar printers

How do we route drink orders to two different bar printers depending on where they are ordered from, and can they default to one when only one service window is in use? We want orders coming from one side of the restaurant to route to one service window printer and the other side to print to a second service window printer. We would also like to default to all drinks going to one service window when the other is closed, i.e. if we turn a printer off, all orders go to whichever one is still powered on. Seems like a "Service Area" parameter, but I'm not seeing it.

You are correct on the service areas, if you don't already have service areas setup for the two sides of the restaurant you need to create those and assign them to either the tables themselves or the devices that are in those areas.

Next you need another prep station setup for the other service window and a printer assigned, the  use item routing to reroute drinks coming from the other service area to go the the other service window prep station.

Finally you need to set the backup printer for the other service window printer to be the main service printer so that you can turn it off when not in use and those tickets will reroute back to the main.

You could also copy your drink menu. Then make sure the individual items on the menu are set to inherit the prep station from the menu group. Then set one menu groups prep station to the main bar and the other menu group to the other bar. That way servers can choose which bar they are sending tickets to. Just remember if you add a drink to one menu to add it to the other menu using the add existing items option to keep reporting clean. Good idea in the previous post to set the main bar as the backup printer for the secondary bar so any drinks sent there after its closed reroute to the main bar.
