Currently, they only way to prompt a "party size" is through the Table Service screen. There's no way to have the "party size" calculator pop-up when starting a new quick order on the Quick Order screen.
We run a very busy brewery, and because everyone likes to walk around and mingle (not always staying in the same seat), we don't use the floor plan/table service mode to ring anything in.
Instead, every guest (even those that start off sitting at a table) gets rang up with the Quick Order screen. We swipe their card to pre-auth and hold a name on the tab, but sometimes there's 3 or 4 people on that tab. So, our analytics and reporting is incorrect. We aren't able to know for certain what our guest count is on any given night, or what the check average is per guest - because we aren't able to use the "party size" feature on the quick order screen.
Being able to use the party size feature at the beginning of a new quick order would not only be beneficial, but is crucial to our understanding the real figures. I understand that for many restaurants/bars this may defeat the purpose of a "quick" order (because it's one extra step to take when starting the order), but if there were a way to toggle "on" or "off" whether or not you want to be prompted with the party size calculator with each new quick order - I feel that would help out the restaurants/bars that WOULD use this feature, but then those that don't need it could just toggle it "off".
This would be a great thing to add to the software with a future update!!!
