Whenever I try to upload an image to the toast menu the system doesn't do anything. I try clicking on choose image but nothing happens.

Can you share what device, browser, and operating system you are using? Have you tried on any other computers or devices?

Are You clicking save on the top afterwards 

you need to hit choose image then save at the top right
