Loyalty Program

Hi Toasters!

   I am going to start the Loyalty program soon but I'm curious about how the full service restaurants handle the guest experience.  Specifically the ones that are NOT using Mobile Order & Pay. 

So old school, drop a check at the table, server runs the payment, and drops a receipt at the table for guest to sign.

 From the training videos it looks like there is  an option that will show up on the physical receipt that prompts the customer to sign up for Loyalty and gives a line for them to put their email address. 

  • #1:  Can I change that to asking them for their phone number instead of email?
  • #2: Can the initial drop ticket be customized to say something like "If you'd like to sign up or if you ALREADY have a Loyalty account please leave your phone number on this line"?
  • #3:  If the customer is already signed up for loyalty how are you asking for or getting that information before running their card?

We are a not a full service restaurant but can provide some information about the loyalty program.

#1: You can choose the sign-up method to be either a phone number or an email address. Cannot be both in the initial sign-up. Customers can add their phone number or email to their account later on if they wish to.

#2:  Yes. You can the "promo area" on the receipt to add the message you'd like your guests to see. This setting is under "Receipt Setup".

#3: For guests who already have an account with you, Toast system will link customer's card with their loyalty account
if 1) the order has customer's loyalty pulled up and attached and 2) customers pay with same credit card.
Other ways to pull customer's account will be 1) search by phone number before/after taking an order or at payment screen and 2) (it has to be digital receipt: receipt by text or email) customers can click the "sign-up" button in the bottom of a receipt and enter their phone number.
