We run Toast Retail and run Toast in our restaurant (2 "locations"). On the retail side we use a scale generated embedded barcode to read price. Toast will discount weighed fractional items over a lb correctly for % off but not $ off discounts. Toast will not perform either discount with weights less than a lb. Ex: Strip Steak 1.54lbs, no problem with a 10% discount, will do $ off but only on the first lb not fractional. Ex: Ground Beef 0.95lb, won't discount a % off, but if its 1.01lb no problem, discounts at $ off cannot be performed.
Inablity to do fractional $ off, and % off less is causing long lines with our cashier as the only workaround is an open item, requiring our cashiers to know every sale in the store or use a cheat sheet to remember and use a calculator to price the open item.
We have made the request for a change though our onboarding rep, through Toast reps, and more. The only response we get is "we are aware and working on it".
Why can't Toast provide a timeline or at least some level of Toasts perceived urgency/priority on the fix, its maddening that we get "filtered" through reps and agents with no dev team communication. Additionally maddening, is that when posting to the board there is no Retail specific area, or label that fits posts like this.
Anyone else familiar with this? could not find an active thread though search. Thanks.

Looks like this is fixed in 2.93 https://updates.toasttab.com/announcements/minimum-quantity-for-item-specific-discounts-can-now-be-l... you might be able to request to be upgraded rather than wait.

15709813, .....don't ask me why after changing the items to "any", verifying other changes nothing worked still.....tested it at 1pm EST nothing work.....reset dates on the sale out the of the range, set them back to the correct dates , then toggled off on the auto apply , and saved to see if it mattered and voila....it worked. Will likely close out the case. Go figure....makes no sense. Will test further. Joe

That technique actually works more often than you might think, kind of the equivalent of turning a device off and on again.

nsvorp thanks, did that and it did not work (see attached), would you be willing to check out the video to see if our config is off? got a feeling it might have to do with the embedded bar code reading price? Any all help appreciated
