Currently, we have a "refill" button configured to send drink refill requests to the drinks printer. While the refill prints to the drink station if drinks are entered individually, it does not if a server inputs, say, 5 cokes initially and then breaks them out individually when one person requests a refill. Does anyone have an suggestion to remedy this?

Do you want the ticket to be printed out in individual chit when a server enter a quantity of an item?
If so, In Toast Web, navigate to Kitchen > Printers, tickets, & KDS devices > Kitchen.
Check the options as shown in the picture above. Save and publish.
If that is not your case, it would be helpful if you can include more details on your situation.

We have a button called "refill" as a mod for drinks. We use this AFTER a drink has been fulfilled. It's basically updating the order. Here are the scenarios:
1. If the drinks are put in separately at the time of order and the server puts in a refill. The refill ticket prints.
2. If they are put in as, say, 3 cokes instead of 1 coke three separate times, it does not work. It will print a refill order for ALL drinks even though there is only one who wants one.
3. The server separates the drinks out to order a refill for one guest. In this situation, a ticket will not print at all.

I think the only way around this is decreasing the item count if it was initially rung in with a quantity, and ringing it back in with the refill option added.
Your servers could use the “duplicate” button rather than quantity when ringing the drink in initially, as long as menu item consolidation is turned off, to speed things up.
If inventory tracking matters to you, you may also consider always ringing a refill in as a separate item, but setting up an auto-applying discount that takes the price off when “Refill” is selected.

Is the refill button a seperate menu item or a modifier of the soda item?
