I's like to say I'm pretty familiar with configuring toast back-end, but I've run into an issue I'm not sure how to deal with. Our takeout-counter menu is also visible to the Online ordering option, we have combo sides and drinks as an option but they are built as separate modifier categories (combo side) (combo drink) as optional force show. This means customers aren't obligated to "complete" the combo and they still get the discount drink if they were to only pick a drink and not the side.
What I'd prefer to do is create a pricing scheme where you're required to pick one side, and one drink but only IF you're choosing to do the combo. To make matters more complicated, some of the drink options are an upcharge are only available until a certain time , but I want them to be under the same drink category, (we are in Canada and our takeout can only offer alcoholic beverages until 11pm, but we are open past that).
If I were to write out a rudimentary choice wire frame I imagine it like this:
Choose Item
>combo? (not required)
>if NO move on
>if YES
>side? (required)
>drink? (required)
>if all conditions are met the price is adjusted to the combo price (which is as if the drink is free), if not the sides and drinks show at their listed menu price.
Is there a way to do this effectively?

I don't think there is much you can do with the time restriction other than manually marking it out of stock. As far as the rest I think you could achieve it by making the combo a modifier button that has to be selected and nest the combo drink and side under that. Since they won't have to select the initial combo modifier you could then make the side and drink groups required and limit the selection without preventing them from adding to the cart. Definitely covered a similar situation before but easier to just draw it out again than to try and find the post.
