On our KDS' we swapped over to the newer Grid View option instead of the Dynamic View, it looks way better and we have had no problems with it until about 5 days ago. I guess there was an update and now any order that comes in from online, phone orders, and third party orders it is only displaying the first name/ first line of text. Prior if an online order came in with the name "Robert Smith" it would show up as just that, now it only shows "Robert" on all of the KDS'. With online orders that is how the name appears, however the worst end of this is for third party orders through UberEats and Door Dash. With Door Dash orders prior to this update it the order would show up as "DD bj8bs8u Robert Smith", now it only only display as "DD" and nothing else, so aside from the ticket number, there is no way to dictate who's order is who, and when trying to see on our drink screen quickly if a Door Dash order has a drink, it can no longer be achieved. Similarly with UberEats the order show up now as "•" and that is it, it's literally just a dot and nothing else, no name, just a dot. Swapping back to Dynamic view both first and last names are displayed, but not on the superior Grid View which also gives us previews from orders being placed on the register unlike with the Dynamic View option.
This is happening to us at both our store locations, and nothing was changed on the back end, and it is bugging me to hell because full names are what we use to get our orders out properly, and look if customers received drinks. Names are easier to look at than numbers.

Update- the issue is now fixed thanks to someone on the development team for the KDS's they were able to fix it, I came into work today and it still only displayed the first name, but changing the text size or changing over to dynamic view then back made it work again. Prior to me trying that it didn't change anything, but it looks like a hot fix was sent out just for this issue.

I understand how disappointing and frustrating it must be when things stop working as expected after an update. I’m really sorry I can’t offer a solution at the moment.

On my phone it says Toast POS v2.82, so I assume that is what the worm KDS screen are on as well. If you're able to update yours to test it if possible to see if it is just an our restaurant thing or an update bug, that would be a great help.

It seems like this might be a bug from the recent update. We have a Toast Guru in the community, @rcmck, who might be able to shed some light on the issue!

Can confirm the issue seems to be with 2.82, not seeing it on 2.80, also may have found another issue while making my test order, the size modifier is showing up inline and as a modifier underneath.

I talked to somebody who said they are the lead developer of the KDS team and that it should be hot fixed tomorrow. Good to know that I wasn't going crazy.
