line item delays

can someone tell me why this happens? It seems to be random.....

It could be a syncing issue between the devices; if you restart the lagging one, does that fix the problem?

it doesnt happen that often, but it's a pain when it does, because it comes thru as two orders with the same number

Seems like the individual item hold to me, if you accidentally have a item or items selected and don't hit done before hitting send or pay it will only send the selected items and hold the rest. 

Those two items are red which means they are held, do you have individual item hold enabled under front of house setting? It is not recommended to have that enabled in conjunction with the new grid view KDS.
