Hi Toast Community!
How come there isn't an options in Discounts to set a MAXIMUM discount. You can set a min/max spend for the discount to work, but shouldn't there be to set the maximum amount an employee or Toast will take off? Or am I missing a setting?
Thanks!
Jason

Ok, yeah, not at this time anyway, if you have access to the ideas hub beta I would submit it there. The only thing I can think of as a workaround would be to have two discounts, one that is 20% off up to a max check of $100 and another discount that is $20 off with a minimum check of $100, not ideal but would be better than them doing math on the fly.

No there isn't, what are you trying to achieve? The discounts themselves are limiting depending on configuration, like a fixed amount or percentage off.

I'm really surprised Toast doesn't have that option. The example would be a coupon (discount code) that says 20% your total check but the maximum discount is $20. The way it is now, Toast would do the 20% unlimited, so if the person spent $9000 as a silly example, it would give off 20% of that. If you do the Open % Discount, you can avoid that, but now you're replying on the employee to calculate what the 20% off would be and remember not to go over the maximum. Super-problematic.

It will max out at 20% of 100 and the rest of the check will not be discounted
