Hi Toast Community!
How come there isn't an options in Discounts to set a MAXIMUM discount. You can set a min/max spend for the discount to work, but shouldn't there be to set the maximum amount an employee or Toast will take off? Or am I missing a setting?
Thanks!
Jason

Ok, yeah, not at this time anyway, if you have access to the ideas hub beta I would submit it there. The only thing I can think of as a workaround would be to have two discounts, one that is 20% off up to a max check of $100 and another discount that is $20 off with a minimum check of $100, not ideal but would be better than them doing math on the fly.

This doesn't seem to work for me. if the check Amount exceed the max value $ then the specific Discount option does not show.

Great solution for now, thanks so much!

A bit late to this game but I agree with Jason, having the fixed % discounts have a max discount amount at the item level would be great. I have a 'cheers' discount set up in my system that is a 100% discount, intended for small gifts like giving guests a free cookie. However, since can't cap it, it can be used for more expensive things and it's quite hard to control that without itemizing the discount. Alternatively, 'requiring reason' after a certain dollar amount would also be super helpful e.g. is discount is used for more than $10, automatically require a reason.

Hey @ToastyToast, not late at all! I will let our team know about this feedback, and thanks for posting!

Even later to the conversation - we offer meals up to a specific value to staff, and require them to be rung in and comp'd. This is a 100% fixed discount, but the min and max value as stated won't work in this case. It would be nice to have a max comp amount as an allowed value in the discount setup.
