Print discount comment

We have a discount set up for 'Employee Meal' with a discount reason and comment required, with the intent that the comment is the name of the recipient of the employee meal.  This is mostly working for us, but the Discount Reason/Comment doesn't print, just the name of the discount.

Anyone know of a way to get this to print?  

One workaround would be to require employee meals to be ordered under Quick Service and have the tab name be the employee name, but I don't think we're set up to for all servers to have access to Quick Service.  And I'm a little bit stubborn and would prefer the name to print with the discount title...  😎

Unfortunately I do not think it can print the comment on the receipts.

We have struggled with employee meals and reporting, but our current system is to apply our Employee Meal discount, which requires Manager Approval, and then assign the employee who is receiving the meal as the Server on the check.

It reports nicely in the discounts report if you download the csv version at the bottom of the page. You can then open it in excel and make a table, which can be filtered by discount name and show what "Servers" applied those discounts.

You are right, however, in that with this system, every employee who can receive these meals would at least need either quick serve or table service access.

I'm curious what other folks are doing.

While it would be a pain in the butt to create, but each employee could have their own promo code which requires manager approval to input. You would then have each discount show up in your report. For example JOHNDOE as a code would be John Doe Employee Meal. and you could do it for everyone, then when an employee leaves, archive/delete the code.

It's a great idea for a smaller operation, but we've got way too many people for that to be feasible.  Thanks for your input! 😁
