Sales Summary Could Be Easily Improved

ToastyToast
Soup III

The Sales Summary page has a lot of useful info, but it is also missing some stuff that would be easy to add and improve it a lot.

  • Gross Sales
    • Not Missing, but too far down the report. Gross Sales, Discounts, and Net Sales should all be at the very top of the report. It is simply too tedious as currently laid out to figure out how exactly Toast arrived at your Net Sales figure. If Gross and Discounts were listed in the same line item area, it would be much clearer.
  • Labor %
    • This would be super easy to add to the report and would save us having to open an entirely separate report just to look at labor and sales summary together.
  • Drill Down Into Sales Categories!
    • PLEASE allow us to click on a sales category and have it link to the actual p-mix for that category! I hate having to go into the Menus section of reports and pull an entire P-Mix report just to get a quick look at what beers sold well any given day. Make those sales categories clickable (drill down-able) for the love of god!

@ToastyToast  Thanks for reaching out about this. I have forwarded your feedback to my team for review, and they responded with the following information:

  • On the new Sales summary, we have a new "Net sales summary" card that brings all of that important info up to the top of the page.
  • We now allow for customization of the report so you can drag and drop the order of the cards
  • Labor % is not being added to Sales summary right now because we are trying to be very intentional about the purpose of each report.

Sales summary is becoming more of an overview dashboard for customers. We may either need to consider a true dashboard view that mixes sales, labor, and menu data, or evolve sales summary to be more than a reconciliation report between sales and payments.

  • For the final point, that is on the list!
  • The current pmix unfortunately doesn't have the proper filters to allow that to happen, but we will be linking to the new PMIX, which will have a sales category filter.

Thanks for the reply. Can you clarify what the team means by "on the new Sales Summary"? I don't see any way on my sales summary to organize the cards. Is there some instructions on that somewhere, would be super helpful!

And to clarify the last point, that's great that the pmix filters are improving. But on top of that, being able to click into the pmix from the Sales Category section of the Sales Summary would be clutch! Heartland Restaurant POS can do this and it is hugely convenient. Again, the point is to not have to run a separate pmix report, but just dig deeper into the info on the sales summary. Cheers!

The new sales summary is in closed beta but if you or anyone else is inserted I may be able to get you access, let me know!

I am definitely interested! Do you need anything on my end?
