Hello, I am new to Toast and am currently building a menu for our new restaurant. I think I have figured out modifiers and pre modifiers but would like to look at how it will appear on the terminal, which we don't have yet. Is there a way to see the layout from my PC or do I have to keep building the menu and hope it all works out once the equipment is installed?

Best thing to do is use an android emulator on PC while setting up menu, especially if you don't have equipment yet. Here is a guide on getting that setup with BlueStacks https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Bluestacks-Download-Guide

No I am just another toast user, that's interesting, I have only had access to a terminal on one other POS system but it was on premise, and it was just a VNC connection to one of the terminals in the dining room which was in use most of the time and not very helpful, and I had to be at the restaurant to do anything. I much prefer this, but everyone has a different perspective. I realize it can be difficult to setup for most people though, perhaps they could try to make that a little simpler somehow. I can't really see it happening directly from the backend since it is web based.

In general, there are too many things that I can NOT do on the back-end, but only in person at the restaurant. We have more than one restaurant and at times I need to do things remotely, and it's a challenge. For example, yesterday, I needed to void an item off a bill for a guest who already left. I was working from home, 4 hours after our restaurant closed. I could NOT void the item from home. I had to call Toast, waste time on a long phone call while a Toast rep grabbed a device and did what I could not do from the computer. Very frustrating and time consuming just to void an item off someone's bill.

that can be done remotely if you Bluestack to run Toast app.

If you are able to set this all up (it took me 3+ hours and tears of rage), you WILL be able to void items out remotely. It has taken me 3+ months to switch to Toast and severely impacted my business because I have spent so much time trying to figure it out and it takes so long to get even the smallest problems resolved. The support just isn't there.

I work remotely, so I am also needing to view the menu without being present at the restaurant. I have downloaded BlueStacks and installed the Toast app.
In the BlueStacks App Player, when I open the Toast app and enter my email and password, I repeatedly get an error that says "Oops, something happened when trying to contact Toast. Please try again."
Is anyone else getting this error message? I am trying to log in using the same log-in credentials (email and password) that I use to log into the Toast Restaurant Admin website.
