I'm not sure if this is still something that Toast offers, but we have a Demo Lab location. It provides the full POS experience (with the exception of processing payments) without impacting any of our existing locations. Since I handle menu builds, it's been incredibly helpful. Before I publish menu changes to any live location, I first publish them to the Demo Lab to verify that everything looks correct and functions as expected. I typically access the Demo Lab through BlueStacks.
A while back, someone from Toast mentioned that they were working on a dedicated training or test-mode environment for employees, but I haven't seen or heard any updates since then.
If your POS and location are already set up, you may be able to access your location through BlueStacks while it's still in test mode, which could be a good option for training and testing purposes.
It may also be worth reaching out to your Toast representative to see if there are any additional training or sandbox options available. 😊
