Toast REALLY needs to have permissions follow the JOB, NOT the employee! This is one of the MOST frustrating parts of Toast (2nd being they took the option away to disable the search option with the new POS experience, which is causing major issues)!!!

Hey everyone, thank you for your continued posting about this, I was able to get an update! We are working on a feature that is now in beta testing called Job-Based Access that will solve this issue, there is not timeline but we plan to go live with it in the near future!

Permissions do follow the Job --be sure to put the permissions on the job and not the employee.
Also, you can still disable the search bar from Front Of House, at least we can here.

Luckily it seems like Toast is finally addressing this per @Rob 's comment. So we shouldn't have to worry about this for too much longer.

Don't believe everything Toast tells you or what they tell others - they tell you what you want to hear as a temporarily band-aid. They have been "addressing this" and "working on a solution" for the last 3 years.

That may be the case in the past, but I have been with toast since their inception and haven't felt deceived by them when it comes to addressing issues and concerns that I have had. I understand that others may have felt that way, but I can say that I feel @Rob has been straightforward with everything I have asked. Sometimes things take time, or never make it out of alpha/beta.

Thanks for reaching out with your feedback. This feature is already in some locations; however, it is still in the testing phase, so it is in flight, but we have not launched it officially yet!
