kds modifier appearence

I have researched and chosen whatever options I can to ensure modifiers appear under the item to be modified, yet the kds still show, for example, a Sprite with no onion. How can I rectify this? We have too much food waste due to this one thing.....

What have you done so far? Could you share an example of the issue?

That Chili Sauce and Cheese actually go on the fries included in the combo....

Okay, you would need to set the modifiers up a little differently, you said fries are included, are there any other side options? I would create a sides mod group even if fries is the only option,  just set the price to $0 if it's included, then nest the fry topping under the fries side.  A similar post with some details on how to nest modifiers (if you are not familiar) https://community.toasttab.com/t5/fast-casual/side-option-modifiers/m-p/8595 

And you will get on screen something like this where the fries mods are indented under the fries.
