Where to ask about previous menu editing? Not Menu Builder.

Hello!

New to Toast but not to managing POS systems.
I'm cleaning up a bunch of junk with old menus and can't find some answers.
First, I'm not  using menu builder.  Just Menu -> Edit menu.  It's easier and more clear to me.
Where can I find tutorials for that method of menu building,  then some specific questions regarding linking, copying, etc.

Thank you!

Pre modefiers are nice but I would avoid them if you plan to do any online ordering, they don't work online, I use them sparingly for food or for in house drink menus when I do. https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Pre-Modifiers-1493068611745  default modifiers can be helpful and do work online, https://central.toasttab.com/s/article/Creating-Default-Modifiers they work best when modifiers groups are attached at the menu group level rather than individual menu items, since they can be overridden at the menu item level and assigned different default modifiers for each item (sandwiches and their toppings for example)

Hidden menus are more for hiding menus from certain places like online ordering or third parties, also can be used to hide entire menus from POS and be unhidden on the device it's like a happy hour menu you only want available at the bar. The modifiers you referenced would be considered just modifiers, I would learn about nested modifiers though, they can be helpful.

MLM just means multi location management, only need to learn about that if you are using that product and have multiple locations.

Thank you for those articles, too.  I read like crazy.

That said, I am not finding what I need, if periods aren't recommended.  I am a serious beater, and tend to mod at the group level, then obviously specifics on the item or mod level.

You've been so kind with your time, I am hoping you wouldn't mind more direction

We need to be able to mod line this:  no bacon, sub cheese.

Problem is, these (including add, extra, sub, onside) print like this: no, sub, bacon, cheese.  I want to be able to essentially "talk" with mods.  It prevents calling out, errors when expo forgets, etc.

Where should I be looking to do this?  Separate no, ad, sub, etc buttons that pull from the same Ingredient  mod group?

OMG, it seems like pre-mods are the answer to my problems!

Now, I have a huge mod list (I am pruning) already.  It seems I could clean that up and do a pre group of no, sub, etc.

We eventually will go online.  Other locations, which were set up badly and independently, already are.  I am already thinking of an online menu with parallel, non-pre-mods.  I am already creating
