Hi
Sometimes when you open a check, but exit without adding anything, it doesn't show as an open check, but ToastNow reflects this as an open check. Its odd, I try to judge if the restaurant is busy based on the number of open checks, but often i get tricked. But at the POS itself, these don't show up.
Anyone run into this? Or is there a way to remove them from the ToastNow report?

I will pass this feedback on to my team!

I am having an issue where a server worked a shift on 9/3. At the end of their shift, their shift review showed $0 net sales. The one check that they had (it was a private event, one big table), was assigned to an order that was opened 4 days prior (on 8/31). Toast customer service is telling me that the order was created on 8/31 under a different server, with no check on it, no items and no payments. The server that created the order on 8/31 was able to close out their shift on 8/31 and the manager at the end of the day saw no open checks in the Close of Day report. But now the sales from the event on 9/3 are being assigned to the sales from 8/31, which is screwing up my sales reports for the month of August and the month of September AND it's screwing up my payroll. How can an order exist without any checks or items on it???

Hello, thanks for reaching out to the community, and I apologize for the reporting issues here. To answer your question, though, an order can exist without any checks or items on it due to abandoned checks.
When someone opens the order screen, a check is started in the next sequence of numbers from the last order. If they navigate away from the order screen, that order is canceled, so essentially that check number is skipped. These aren’t “missing” ticket numbers; these tickets are just never completed, or they were possibly never even started.
As you've stated, this situation can lead to discrepancies in sales reports and payroll, as the order may be linked to a previous date without any items or payments, which affects the current sales and payroll calculations.
When you spoke to support, did they explain how to fix this issue?
