Delivery Driver Shift Review Missing Tips

There are many occasions on a nightly basis where a driver will run their shift review, and the tip from an order is missing from their credit tip audit. The order number shows under the credit tip audit, but the tip says 0, but when you print the receipt for the order or look up the order in the POS order hub, etc., the tip shows on both.

We use in house delivery drivers and use Toast delivery system for dispatching orders to drivers, and balancing all the cash they collect and tips we owe to the drivers.

In these instances, I have done a payout from the drawer for the tip amount, but can anyone explain why these tips are now showing in the driver's shift reviews

First off if using your own driver s or a hybrid model I urge you to use Shipday, to manage your drivers and delivery orders. Everything syns with the POS and the drivers don't need to touch the POS until its time to close out. It will also auto-assign your drivers, give your customers tracking info, require proof of delivery from your drivers and item checks during pickup. (photo and Geo-coordinate proof always ensures you win and customer dispute.)

So there are a few things that could be causing this. First is when it comes to delivery the server owns the check until the driver completes the delivery. So the shift that the order was taken on must stay open until all your drivers are checked out. My phone girls have two numbers (1 for orders they take, and the one that they take tables with and punch in with). Here are instructions if you don't have shipday. Manager must dispatch driver. Driver must have cashier permissions and Delivery permissions. The driver must come back and complete each delivery themselves on the POS and Close each chekc out themselves on a POS with no drawer attached. You must make sure on the delivery screeen all the drivers names are correctly listed under each order (SO they must complete delivery and close orders,). If you use shipday, the order will automatically be assigned to the driver and once he driver marks delivered on their app it will complete the order making it so the only orders that must be closed by the driver on the POS is cash orders as toast doesn't allow for external cash sales.

If the order is scheduled however, you have two options use next day mode which is a discussion for another day or you will have to manually tip those out as the payment is captured.

Again feel free to reach out
