Doordash Integration

Hello there! I am just trying to get some input from other restaurant owners on how well the Doordash integration does for business. We are a small family owned business and I am trying to get some ideas on how to grow our business. Any comments or feedback on how Doordash has helped your business? Thank you in advance for your time!

Hey @DepotGrill, DoorDash has been great for us overall. The commission is lower than Uber Eats, but you can still land co-funding deals if you negotiate. I managed to get a 50/50 split on promos plus some ad credits, which has been a solid boost. In comparison, Uber Eats caps co-funding at 35% and charges higher commission rates, while SkipTheDishes doesn’t offer co-funding at all, though their base commission is lower.

Revenue-wise, DoorDash and Uber Eats are pretty similar for our locations. That said, the integration with DoorDash has been a bit rocky... I’m still working through some technical issues. I’m confident it’ll pay off once the bugs are sorted out, but just a heads-up: if you’re setting revenue targets based on DoorDash, factor in some buffer time while the system gets fully optimized.

The integration itself is seamless.  We've only had problems on the Doordash side with a wrong address.  In terms of whether Doordash is "worth it", I think third party food delivery apps are a necessary evil for the time being.  I will say, I'd definitely raise your Doordash prices a minimum of 10% vs your regular menu prices, just to offset some of the commission.   The Toast integration allows for this.

Hey there, I have had the Door Dash integration for about 7 months now.  Most of the time it works fine.  But You have to make your menu dummy-proof for them.  Also we have had many issues with us making something out of stock and Door Dash turning it back on for their site and then we have to call the customer to try to figure out how to fix the issue or doordash to try to get it removed and they have a hard time doing this.  They blame toast POS and refuse to look at their side being the problem.  We are a diner and ice cream shop.  We finally decided to turn off ice cream on the door dash side as there were just too many issues.  But over all it does boost sales.  The commission rate stinks so definitely mark up your pricing to help off set some of it.   I urge my customers on our social media to go directly to our online ordering platform to use delivery through toast to save them that mark up.  We have a lot that do and many that just don't care about the increased costs and just order through door dash.  They best part is you find new customers and eventually they will show up in person.

I also have Uber on a Tablet as it is new to our area and I will say the integration is worth it as I hate having to update UBER manually for everything we add or remove.  I hope that helps and if you have any other questions please let me know.
