I operate a restaurant group with 6 locations and 500 employees. We offer our employees discounts to dine at all of our locations. We used to have a rewards program where discounts were associated with employee rewards #'s however we are terminating that program and transitioning to Toast Rewards. We are struggling with finding a way to identify employees at the POS terminal in order to apply their discount. Not everyone knows everyone. Anyone have a work around or solution?

I found your post in searching the community for a solution to a similar issue we are facing. Since your post, have you found a feasible workaround/solution?

Unfortunately nothing built into Toast for this that doesn’t involve assigning every employee to every location.
Our company has a few key corporate people who have access to every restaurant, and for their discount, we require manager approval. Each of those employees gets the discount approval manager permission and has a unique POS access code to give the cashier, so we can see who is using the discount where. Doing it for the whole company would be chaotic, unless you’re okay with a company-wide shared employee list, everyone having the discount approval permission, and don’t use personal identifiers as the POS access codes.
The key is letting the employee receiving the discount know that they have to give their own number to the cashier to approve it, as opposed to the manager on shift approving it.

We made our employees company id cards but this could easily be done digitally and stored on there phone. They show their phone and discount code or QR code when ordering\paying
