Hi All! We run a private events department at our locations, and would like to ensure that we are tracking and reporting private events vs regular in house sales appropriately. We have an "Event" dine in category, but want to make sure that it's being used every time. I was able to find a way to force a dining option when using quick order, but most of our events are put in under actual tables. I turned off the "Dine In" default option, but would really like to force dining option when starting an order for a table, instead of a quick order. Any insight is helpful!

Hi!
Do you use a specific device to ring in these event orders? If you're using Toast Go 2 devices, you could designate one specifically for "event" use. Then, set the default dining option on that device to the "Event" dine in category you mentioned. This setup should also help with tracking, even if the order is entered under a table, since the designated device will default to the "Event" dine-in category.
Default dining options can apply to either your entire restaurant or to a specific device. To assign a default dining option to a specific device that differs from your restaurant's default, follow the steps below.
Another option would be to use revenue centers. If you have designated tables that are consistently used for these event orders, you could create an "Event" revenue center and assign it to those specific tables. Create and Assign Revenue Centers
