Gift Cards as Payment for Catering & Events

I’m a little surprised gift cards are not available as a payment option for Toast Catering & Events, neither on the back end invoices nor on the guest’s end for invoices or online ordering. I spoke with support and they said the engineering team has been working on it.

Could anyone get a possible timeline for this? I honestly thought we’ve had this capability for months since signing on with Catering & Events. It’s coming to light now as an issue because of all the holiday catering we do.

Unfortunately not. Another year down and we are still waiting to allow guests to use Gift Cards for catering orders. @Rob have you heard any whisperings?

Thanks for your continued feedback on this! After digging into it, I can confirm that the product team is aware of the request, and the additional teams involved also have this feature on their radar. It does appear to be something we plan to support in the future, but I wasn’t able to find any timeline for when it might be released.
