I am currently looking for a way to group bar items together when the receipt is printed telling them what is ordered. I have done it in the past, but it also groups the same items together on the EXPO and guest checks. Grouping on guest checks/EXPO is not something that our owner or my GM wants done, so I am trying to find a way to make it more efficient on my bartenders.
Go to receipt setup, scroll down to group items on receipts, set to yes. There are also some other settings there you might consider if you are looking to reduce receipt size, like show free items, show free modifiers, and show special requests.
I think you are thinking of another setting under kitchen setup that groups similar items, that will affect expo as well as the check display on the POS screen, this setting is just for printed receipts. If it's the check display which causes the confusion then this won't help, you had mentioned receipts so I thought that is where you wanted to see it grouped. I do wish we could set the POS display to group but not group in the kitchen.
