Online order maximum

Hi Toasters!

Does anyone know if there is a way to set a maximum order limit to online ordering or a way that after a certain amount an additional wait time is added to the order? I had an order come through the other day that was a $400 order that we would need a little extra time to prepare.  I do have it set that a server has to approve the order before it goes back to the kitchen but unfortunately a new server approved it without realizing they needed to do any further action. Thanks!

I currently throttle by items and allow 35 items in 15 min. I increase by price. On my Third party apps I have a message on all catering items and items with longer lead times to expect a longer wait time then generated and scheduling your order is the best was to guarantee we have it ready

Managing Your Quote Time Strategy

In the article posted by Rob, use the function 'Order Price Quote times'. I have my base qute time as 25 min.

I also have mine set to add an additional 5 minutes for over $50, add 10 minutes for over $75 and so on. Gives breathing room to the kitchen.

I also use auto approve for online orders as it is a large chunk of our business. I would recommend this as customers are not waiting for a server to check the order approval page.

At some point you have to rely on a customer having some level of common sense and that $400 isn't going to be ready in 20 minutes.

I had it set this way until one time larger orders placed first awhile before due.  Then medium orders placed after those and additional 10-15 orders smaller orders were placed and a rediculous amount of items were due all at once, not to mention all of the window orders.  Never will I use that order throttling mode again.  The newer item throttling is à improvement but still needs work, we would like to have each 15 min block of day customizable to tune how many items per 15 min you can throughput varies from 3 o’clock versus 6pm.
