Hey @TaylorTai, thanks for reaching out with this question! I have attached some articles that go into this, but the short version is below!
-In most cases, printing receipts, opening cash drawers, and entering tips are all unaffected by Offline Mode as long as ethernet cables have not been unplugged.
- If your system went offline after a pay period ended and all time entries and tips from the pay period have synced, you may decide to process payroll for that pay period. (only If you are using Toast Payroll)
-You may still take credit and debit card payments and enter tips if background credit card processing was enabled previously. However, you can only swipe a card. EMV (chip) and tap payment methods will not work. It is best practice to verify the cardholder's name and the card's expiration date, especially when you are offline.
